McLean, VA — Communications Resource, Inc. (CRI) today announced that the General Services Administration (GSA) approved CRI as a qualified Personal Identification Verification (PIV) integration services vendor.
Homeland Security Presidential Directive 12 (HSPD-12) mandates a common identification standard for all Federal employees and contractors. The new system involves strict identity proofing procedures and a secure common identification card in order for individuals to access government facilities and IT systems. GSA was designated by the Office of Management and Budget as the Federal Executive Agent for government-wide acquisitions of products and services required to implement HSPD-12. To fulfill this requirement, GSA established a Special Item Number (SIN) under IT Schedule 70 to list approved products and services specifically for this purpose.
CRI President Victoria Johnson stated, “We are pleased that GSA has recognized CRI’s capabilities to address both the technical and business process demands of HSPD-12. We know that implementing HSPD-12 is a challenging requirement for Federal agencies and CRI has the skills and experience to help them meet that challenge.”
The HSPD-12 program involves complex technical and procedural elements and crosses traditional organizational and functional boundaries. CRI’s foundation in this area rests on extensive experience as a value-added reseller and integrator of physical access control systems. That background, when combined with CRI’s strong Information Technology and Business Process consulting skills, provides customers with a holistic approach to efficiently and effectively meet the mandate.
In addition to being placed on the approved list of qualified HSPD-12 System Integration Service Providers, CRI holds GSA’s Security Schedule 84 and the Streamlined Technology Acquisition Resources for Services (STARS) Government Wide Acquisition Contract. CRI is an SBA Certified 8(a), woman-owned, small disadvantaged business incorporated in 1994.
