Washington, DC — The Department of Agriculture recently awarded a six year IDIQ Task Order type contract to Communications Resource, Inc. (CRI), a small, woman-owned 8(a) certified company. During the first year of its inception, CRI was awarded “Woman-Owned Business of the Year” from USDA for its outstanding work related to Electronic Government (eGovernment) initiatives, as well as our counter-terrorism support to USDA agencies.

The Office of Procurement and Property Management (OPPM) Program Office has assisted numerous agencies within USDA with their contractual requirements. The range of contract support activities include security support services, policy development, information technology services and procurement of hardware and software.

The range of contract support activities include security support services, policy development, information technology services and procurement of hardware and software.

OPPM’s vision was to establish an 8(a) vehicle that would be open to all USDA agencies to use as a fixed price, performance-based contract. OPPM assists the agencies in preparing the Statements of Work, negotiating the proposals, and monitoring performance. This vehicle is saving many agencies a tremendous amount of procurement lead time, as well as allowing them to meet their 8(a) and woman-owned business goals. The OPPM POC is Mr. Frank Bowen at (202) 401-1716. The CRI POC is Mr. Eric Schneider at (703) 239-2281.
