Former USDA Acting Assistant Secretary for Administration

McLean, Virginia — Communication Resources, Inc. (CRI) announced today that Mr. John Surina will join the firm effective January 9, 2006. He will serve as Client Services Manager.

Ms. Victoria Johnson, president and CEO of CRI, said her firm is considerably enhanced by this addition. “Mr. Surina will assume significant responsibility for our future growth and will enhance our management team during the coming years.”

According to Ms. Johnson, Mr. Surina will be a key player in CRI’s business development strategy and portfolio development. "Mr. Surina offers us a set of capabilities that are perfectly suited for our long range marketing objectives," said Johnson. "He understands the needs and interests of the federal civilian markets and has the experience to develop strategic approaches to entering these spaces. The key to our growth will be listening to the market and seizing every opportunity to expand our presence."

Mr. Surina is leaving his position as Acting Assistant Secretary for Administration for the US Department of Agriculture. He joined USDA in 1998 as Director, Office of Ethics and was appointed Deputy Assistant Secretary for Administration in November 2001. He has a broad background in government operations having served at the Federal Election Commission, on the Council on Governmental Ethics Laws (President in 1991), the Office of Management and Budget, and the Interstate Commerce Commission.

Mr. Surina is a former US Army Military Intelligence Officer and worked in the consultant arena for several years. Mr. Surina received his BSFS in International Affairs from the Georgetown University Foreign Service. Mr. Surina has been a long-standing member, and past president of the Council on Governmental Ethics Laws.
